USA Air Cargo first Internet- based billing and payment service
CASS-USA, which has been developed by carriers and forwarders, provides for seamless financial transactions between carriers and forwarders.
Benefits
- The system eliminates the need for invoice printing and mailing.
- The ability of agents to make payments electronically lowers in-house processing expenses while enhancing business relationships.
- A process that saves five to seven days in getting invoices to agents.
Simple, user-friendly functionality
- Carriers send billing files to CNS electronically.
- The information is then uploaded to the Internet.
- Carriers and forwarders are notified by e-mail when billing information has been uploaded. The e-mail contains hyperlinks to the website allowing operators direct access to their data.
- Agents can review invoices and download them into their own accounting systems to reconcile their records.
Electronic dispute resolution
Each year, about 9 percent of the 2.5 million air waybills being processed are disputed. In the past, these disputes have complicated prompt payment and have reduced trust in the industry.
With CASS, disputes can be resolved quickly as agents mark the dispute type with a code and describe the discrepancy as they upload the information into the system. Carriers are able to review the discrepancy online and either accept the agent's view or re-bill the necessary adjustments. Once an invoice is approved, agents set a date and authorize electronic payment. Payment is then automatically made on the date specified.
